Hi Jonathan,
Unfortunately this isn't yet available in our API. It's admittedly one of those obvious items we really should have. :(
Keep a lookout for some recent updates coming along in our API, including added filtering to our current search API. That should provide what you need when it's ready. -
-
Two month later, still no search by tag functionality. Do you know if it’s coming soon?
Thank you -

Hi Jonathan,
We're not able to implement all updates quickly, unfortunately. But looking back on this, we may have a solution for you.
We do have a search API that returns results based on item names, descriptions, and... tags. The results will let you know what is returned for tags vs what is returned for descriptions. So you may be able to use search and filter the results to only see the returned results from tags. -
-
It is not clear from the API doc how search results from the tags are returned, do you have an example?
-
-
Hi Greg,
The search results will mentions a "" for each item returned. That should specify if it's based on a tag. -
-
When it gets complex (as in music genres) search is a MUST...
whyever should someone add tags to content without having the search option afterwards? Filtering tags is okay for additional navigation but not in this scenario! -

Are there any plans to include compound AND searches in the API? It used to exist, but then went away when a change was made. (This change increased the speed of search, which was good, but now all searches seem to be OR searches if multiple terms are given.) The search on the website will do an AND search.

Hi jwfv,
Our search API currently coincides with the site API. We may provide our own query API down the road, but no timeframe is set.
The site has at least made a few recent search updates, including exact phrase search and multi-word search. Now you can search with quotes, to work similarly to an AND operation. -

I will test this out. Just so I am clear:
"june first" will find only documents with that exact phrase?
"june" +"first" will find only documents that contain both the terms?
june first (no quotes) will find documents containing either term?
Any other options I am missing? -
-
I think you got it. Quotes for exact phrase, and "+" to search on both items.
